The weather was heavy showers only so we survived a true epic. It was another brilliant day in proper Scottish hills though that was pretty hard going. The first hill was a monster. 90% rideable, it gradually made its way up from sea level to 420m, but with a few dh's on the way. It went up and up a singletrack with some fun techy sections into the middle of nowhere, until a final push up to the col. Then came a DH back to sea level over you guessed it more rock, more slabs, and we got caned by the weather. It was awesome all the same, and flowed pretty well around some beatuiful turns especially higher up. Lower down it got rougher and more wild. I got another puncture - as always.

The ride back from here included a section of road where we got a mini chain gang going with a tail wind for a few KM. Spot the roadies. Then we climbed and descended gravel tracks back, in a howling head wind. It rained too just to batter us before finally finishing an epic weeks proper XC riding.

It was back to Glasgow for a few Ales via a good chippy in Dunkeld. My cousin joined us and we got drunk and ate corned beef sarnies. I woke up to find Adam apologising to Dave for him having wet kit. He hadn't realised what he was doing until he was shaking the last drop out over Daves bag in the middle of the night. Dave was not impressed though as his pads were covered and we were heading to Innerleithen for an uplift day.
