We set off from Oxton at an initially steady pace. Once in the woods no one was really taking up the role of leader with a few of us picking trails at random. Obviously this got to Eddie who after about 20 minutes stormed to the front and engaged "Fun Hoover" mode for the rest of the ride. The pace was fast and there was plenty of climbing. Nottinghamshire might be relatively flat but there's plenty of short, sharp ups to give you a good work out.

Despite the "hoovering" I was feeling much better than the previous week and managed to stay with the chasing pack. I was back into it and enjoyed the ride.
