Scotland Day 2.

After a gentle walk the previous day we went up to Tyndrum below Ranoch Moor just north of loch lomond. Todays ride was a simple route from a guide book. Ride from Tyndrum north, to Bridge of Orchy and follow the Glen out towards Oban. When reaching Loch Etive follow the gravel roads around the loch to Taynuilt where the train could be caught back.

We tanked it around this route. It was a cold but dry day. There was fresh snow on the summits and blizzards in valleys all around but somehow they missed us. The ride had a mix of wide track, singletrack, fast descending, techy moorland descending, massive rock slabs and river crossings. The final 10km is the hardest despite looking like small climbs on the profile, they are steep and keep coming. We got to Taynuilt with enough time to eat everything in the cafe twice followed by a waffer thin mint, and then go to the pub.

Be warned - book your bikes onto the train when doing this route to save yourself a 25mile road ride.
