fettling

Or in other words: maintaining your bike!

Mountain bikes get a lot of rough treatment and so usually need more mechanical attention than most bicycles. There are always loads of questions on all aspects of bike maintenence in the letters pages of bike magazines and on online forums. I am not a trained mechanic and have never worked in a bike shop but I do as much maintainence as possible on my bikes. I therefore decided to add this section to the site. As I do maintainence on my bikes I will record my methods and publish them here.

Bike maintainence is not rocket science. If I can do it, you probably can! :o)

its not just big expensive bikes that need fixing!
